About
Hello, traveler.
I’m Matic and this is my place at the end of the internet - kind of: .xyz sits near the bottom of the alphabetical list of top-level domains (opens in a new tab), but a handful still come after it. I like my privacy, so this page sticks to the work.
The short version.

I’ve been a freelance developer since 2017: remote work for companies, collaborations with talented people and the occasional consulting gig. Quietly confident, naturally curious and perpetually improving my chops.
The pattern in my work: systems other people depend on daily and never think about. Order platforms, data warehouses, booking engines and infrastructure.
A startup failure at 17 taught me the lesson that still runs the show: never again face a technical problem without being able to solve it. Everything on the work ledger came after that decision.
Milestones.
- 2026 - now
Full-time freelance, again
Back to my own ledger: Laravel, e-commerce performance, data pipelines and a deliberate push into AI-focused work.
- 2019 - 2026
In-house years
Full-time at HS Plus (e-commerce in 24+ EU countries), then 3 yrs at Bragg building a multi-tenant CMS for iGaming. The freelance firm never closed.
- 2017
Self-employed
Opened the firm on 6. 2. 2017: NextGEN SOLUTIONS, IT storitve in svetovanje. Everything since is in the work ledger.
- 2013 - 2019
Šaleški študentski klub
6 yrs with the local student club in every role from physical work to promoter and event organizer, well over 100 events, including Velenje’s biggest youth festivals. Also where I shipped my first production website, dmk.si.
- 2013
eBeat
One of five founding members of a startup building an app to turn microphone input into musical notation. We won two startup competitions in a row and presented at TechCrunch Disrupt Europe in Berlin. I was the only developer, not yet 18. The full story is on the blog.
That’s the short history. If it lines up with something you’re building, get in touch - I read every message myself.
